RAPID: UINCD’s Continuous Learning Platform on Non-Communicable Diseases

What is RAPID?
RAPID (Research and Projects in Development) is an initiative by UINCD that brings together healthcare professionals and trainees from across Uganda. It’s a collaborative space to exchange ideas, share early or completed research findings, and discuss implementation experiences related to non-communicable diseases (NCDs).

Open to participants from all career stages, institutions, and regions, RAPID fosters dialogue, mentorship, and peer learning—especially for emerging researchers focused on NCDs.

How It Works
RAPID hosts monthly virtual sessions to enable broad participation, both nationally and globally. Each session features a presentation followed by a dynamic discussion. These conversations explore emerging evidence, practical challenges, and innovative solutions in the NCD space.

Who Can Join?
RAPID welcomes healthcare trainees, practitioners, researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders from academic, clinical, and research institutions—both in Uganda and beyond.

Our Progress So Far
Since its launch in 2024, RAPID has held seven sessions with a diverse and growing audience. Topics have spanned critical areas such as cardiovascular disease, hypertension, diabetes, NCDs among people living with HIV, and mental health issues like opioid use among adolescents.

As we look ahead to the 2025 series, we’re excited to deepen our impact and expand participation across Uganda and the region.
